Privacy policy

Effective from 22 October 2026

This policy explains how PicTiles (the app and the website pictiles.site) handles your data. In short: your game progress stays on your device, we never upload your photos, and ad data is processed by Google.

1. Who runs the game

Václav Kobl, sole trader, company ID (IČO) 24900907, U Jeřábu 284, 252 06 Davle, Czech Republic. Email: info@pictiles.site. We are the data controller under the GDPR.

2. Game progress and settings

Solved levels, coins, hints, trophies and settings are stored only on your device. You don't have an account with us and this data is not sent to us. Deleting the game or its data deletes it.

3. Puzzles from your photos

When you turn a photo into a puzzle, the photo is processed only on your device and is never uploaded. If you send the puzzle to a friend, the game creates a link or code containing only the simplified square picture and the signature you choose to add. You share it yourself; we don't see it.

4. Ads (Google AdMob)

The game is free and funded by ads from Google AdMob, operated by Google Ireland Limited. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google processes data about your device, such as the advertising ID, IP address, device type and how you interact with ads.

  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before showing ads. Without consent, you see ads that are not tailored to your interests.
  • You can change your choice at any time in the game's settings.
  • You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

The legal bases are your consent (personalised ads) and our legitimate interest in funding a free game and preventing fraud. How Google uses data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

5. In-game purchases

Purchases such as removing ads, coins or hints are processed by Google Play. Your payment details never reach us; Google only confirms that a purchase went through so we can unlock what you bought. Google's privacy policy also applies to purchases.

6. The pictiles.site website

The website runs on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.), which may log visitors' IP addresses for security. The website uses no cookies or analytics. Your chosen language is remembered only in your browser.

7. Transfers outside the EU

Google and GitHub may process data outside the European Union, in particular in the USA. Such transfers are protected under the GDPR, for example by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

8. Children

The game is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to object or withdraw consent. Most game data exists only on your device, so you can delete it yourself. For anything else, write to info@pictiles.site. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country or with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.gov.cz).

10. Changes

If the way we process data changes, for example if we add gameplay statistics, we will update this policy and its effective date.
